One town - one campus program is one of the Kyoto prefecture's programs to support collaboration of the academic ativities of university etc. and the local government in the Kyoto area. Objectives of the program are to use all Kyoto area as academic fields, establish educational environment connecting with the area and local companies, improve the attractiveness of the university and, finally, to develop human resources those love the region and contribute to the local area.
Department of practice-oriented area studies is carrying out establishment of "Tango-Asia training center" surpported by this program in Seya of Miyazu city. Implementation period is 2016-2019 and estimated number of participants are 200 in total.
 
Contents
Some regional revitalization projects have been carried out in Miyazu where depopulation and leaving farm management are remarkable. In this one town-one campus program teachers, students and persons concerned from Asian countries like Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh etc. facing the same problems would be invited to this area.
They and students mainly of Kyoto university would research the problems in the area by the participatory rural appraisal method to resolve in collabolation with local residents.
This program is aiming to establish the Tango-Asia training center where the participants could understand the problems of depopulation and leaving farm management in Asia as globalissues to be resolved with local residents through the workshops during four years.



Expected results

1.Carrying out research on local problems and revitalization method using the participatory rural appraisal and making documentation by invited Asian people in collabolation with local residents.
2.Spreading information about depopulation and leaving farm management as globalissue from Asia.
